Equitable  Economic  Development

About us

New E.R.A. Community Group, Inc. started with a desire to create a grassroots movement for community members to be involved in every stage of community revitalization projects. Support of the community through its resident’s involvement is a critical component to redeveloping a neighborhood. A focus on Youth Development through competitive tournament sports venues is our key strategy, which is embraced nationally and is a generator of social and economic benefit.

New E.R.A. seeks to create economic stimulus in urban communities challenged with the lack of employment opportunities, which impacts their quality of life. By bringing an anchor project to such communities, it will promulgate additional development such as affordable sustainable housing, grocery stores, medical clinics, and other various consumer services, which serve to strengthen a community with ease of accessibility. A key element to successful families is earning ability. Through economic development, there is job creation and thus earning capability. It creates an avenue to bring needed commodities and services; it inherently brings connectivity to credit sources and financial services. Youth development through sports tournaments is our key economic development project of choice, which strengthens a young person’s character and growth as a participant in society.

We believe by enhancing a community’s ability to become a competitive place for people to live, work and play, it will become sustainable and will attract desirable development opportunities for housing and commerce. Overcoming existing barriers rooted in lack of economic opportunity will promote positive change and foster community resilience and population growth.

New E.R.A.’s effort is focused on jobs, education, inner-city blight and the problems faced by poor communities. Our goal to promote positive community change by identifying projects for residents, community-based organizations, funders, and policymakers to embrace into fruition.
